Prior to Owens: Smith is a 5-11 forward/center who earned 13 varsity letters as a four-year varsity player in basketball, volleyball and softball. She earned All-Oakland Activities Association honors in all three sports and was named team MVP in all three sports at various times. She joins her HS teammate, Breonna House, at Owens.

Personal: Meshia is the daughter of Louis and Gwendolyn Smith. She has four siblings - Mellissa, Lakesha, Shannon and Daysja.
