2010-11: Hollister started 47 of 49 games for the Express last season from the second base position. She finished with a .378 batting average in 111 at bats. Additional stats include 42 hits, 27 runs, 39 RBI, 15 doubles, one triple, four home runs, 11 walks, six stolen bases, nine sacrifice bunts, and one sacrifice fly. She only struck out 12 times in 111 at bats. Defensively, she had 69 put outs and 83 assists. Offensively, her best game came against Lorain County on April 13 when she went 2-for-3 with two runs, five RBI, one double and one home run. In the regional championship game against Kalamazoo Valley, Hollister hit a home run that helped the Express move on to nationals. In the national tournament, she went 7-for-22 (.318) with four runs, seven RBI, one double and one home run. Her greatest personal sports thrill was the team’s national runner-up finish.

Prior to Owens: Hollister was a three-sport athlete (softball, basketball and volleyball) at Airport HS. She was named Most Improved in basketball, while receiving the Coaches Award and First Team All-Huron League honors in volleyball. Hollister was a three-time First Team All-Huron League and All-District player in softball, while earning First Team All-Region her senior season under the direction of coach John Warren. She was also an Academic All-Huron League selection. She lists her greatest high school personal sports thrill as going to the state quarterfinals her junior year in softball.

Personal: Michelle is the daughter of Andrew and Kay Hollister. Her sister, Kristin, played softball at Macomb C.C. and Ferris State University. She is a pre-physical therapist major at Owens.
