Coach Heidelburg enters his fifth season as the head men's basketball coach at Owens Community College. He joined the Express coaching staff in 2021 as the assistant before being named had coach in 2022.

Since taking over the program, Coach Heidelburg has continued the tradition of excellence established at Owens. During the 2024-25 season, the Express advanced to the NJCAA District finals, falling just one game short of earing a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament. He has since guided the program to back-to-back NJCAA Region XII championships, reinforcing Owen's reputation as one of the premier junior colllege programs in the nation.

A graduate of Fremont Ross High school, Coach Heidelburg was a three-year varsity basketball player and was nominated for McDonald’s High school All-American Basketball team. Following graduation, Heidelburg received a full athletic scholarship to Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, where hewas a standout member of the 2000-2001 team. During his sophomore season, Heidelburg earned 1st Team All-OCCAC honors, averaging 17 points per game. 

After returning to Fremont, Heidelburg dedicated himself to developing young athletes by coaching youth basketball, assisting with camps and clinics adn mentoring players throughout the region.  In 2016, he founded One on One Basketball Development LLC., a player development  organization focused on skill instruction and evaluation to athletes of all ages. He also serves as owner and director of the One-on-One Elite AAU basketball program, one of Ohio's premiere AAU organizations, which has helped hundreds of student-athletes advance to the collegiate level.

Heidelburg officially began his coaching career in 2017 as the Head Junior Varsity coach at Fremont Ross High School while also serving as an assistant with the varsity program. His passion for teaching the game and developing young men led him to Owens Community College, where he has built a championship culture centered on discipline, accountability and player development. He takes tremendous pride in preparing student-athletes for success both on the court and in the classroom. His mission is to develop championship-caliber players while helping yound men grow into leaders in their communities.
