2012-13: Rice, who had a fine NJCAA D-II National Tournament (14 points in the national semifinal), totaled 133 points (3.9/game), 20 rebounds, 30 assists and 15 steals as a freshman. Although he did not start a game, he saw action in 34 of 36 games.

Prior to Owens: Rice is a 2011 graduate of Dayton Dunbar HS, where he played point guard for coach Peter Puillen. As a junior, he was a member of their Ohio state championship team.

Personal: Javon is the son of Johnathan Rice and Juanita Robinson. He has three siblings - Alvance, William and Mitch.
