Toledo, OH - Welcome to the new internet home of Owens Express Athletics!
Our new website, www.owensexpress.com, will bring fans closer to the Express winning tradition and their favorite student-athletes and coaches of all eight Express teams. It will feature live game scores, player features, post-game stories, up-to-date season statistics, and much more. All the athletic media guides will be posted on the site as well, and links to the Owens Express social media sites on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube will be just a click away.
The new website also includes a user-friendly mobile site for fans on-the-go. A text-only version of the website will launch in March.
The website construction was a four-month collaborative process, headed by Athletic Director Rudy Yovich, in partnership with PrestoSports of Rockville, Md. The College has a two-year contract with PrestoSports to host the site, which will be updated daily by the Office of Athletics.
“It today’s era of instant information, we felt it was important to provide our fans with the most current information possible regarding Owens Express Athletics, Yovich said. Owens Community College has a great story to tell and this is just another way to communicate that message.”
The NJCAA, which oversees two-year college sports in the U.S., and PrestoSports signed a six-year contract in January for PrestoSports to upgrade and maintain the NJCAA’s national statistics database.
Express athletics will benefit because of the cross-platform integration through PrestoSports, a time-savings feature for Express coaches and staff.
“We have one of the finest community college athletic departments in the country, with our coaches, support staff, facilities and success in the classroom and in competition, Yovich added. The new website will only add to our ability to recruit quality student-athletes to Owens Community College.”
