Owens Express Volleyball looks to defend back-to-back National Champions with release of 2021-22 schedule

PERRYSBURG, OHIO - The Owens Express volleyball program will resume competition this coming fall to defend their back-to-back national championship titles. With the 2020 season being canceled, this will be the first time the Express will take the court since the 2019 National Championship. That match capped a 43-4 campaign, including the 3-0 sweep over Columbus State to snag the program's second consecutive national championship title.

The Express will return home to the SHAC to begin the season on Aug. 25 for their first home match of the new campaign, hosting Hocking College. The home matches will continue with the Owens Invitational on Aug. 27-29, then Terra on Sept. 1 followed by more matches within the Owens Invitational on Sept. 3-5.

From there, the Owens volleyball team will head back on the road for four consecutive matches. The trip will begin on Sept. 8 against Ivy Tech followed by Lakeland on Sept. 10, Clark State on Sept. 11 and concluding at Lorain County on Sept. 15.

The Express will be back home on Sept. 17 to host Edison State before playing both Clark State and Ivy Tech on Sept. 18 at home. The Express will be off for a bit before resuming competition with a match on Oct. 9 at Hocking College.

The regular season will conclude with alternating home and away matches. Lorain County will visit the SHAC on Oct. 15 before Owens travels to St. Clair on Oct. 16. The final home match of the regular season is set for Oct. 20 against Lakeland before finishing out the season on the road against Terra on Oct. 22.

For postseason play, the Regional Championships are set for Oct. 23 with District Championships spanning from Oct. 28-30. The season will round out at the National Championship in Rochester, Minn. on Nov. 11-13.
