TOLEDO, Ohio --- Maddie White was named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Week for the third time this year on Monday. She becomes the first three-time winner in the entire conference this season.

White (Ottawa, Ohio/Ottawa-Glandorf HS), who won the award on Aug. 30 and Sept. 21, led the No. 2 Owens Community College volleyball team to a 5-0 week. The freshman outside hitter added back-row setting duties to her responsibilities, and she racked up 52 kills while hitting .295, along with 90 assists, five aces, 38 digs and 12 blocks (three solo) over 19 sets.

"Maddie has done a tremendous job adding setting duties while also performing all her other roles at a high level," Owens head coach Sonny Lewis said.

White, who entered the week with just 19 assists all season, produced 12 kills, a season-high 24 assists, eight digs and three blocks (one solo) in a conference win over Edison to begin the week. She followed that up with 21 assists, 10 digs, seven kills and four blocks (one solo) in a sweep of Lorain County.

The Ottawa, Ohio native then nabbed another double-double with 12 kills, 21 assists, five digs, three aces and a block against Rochester University JV. Following a quick, straight-set win over Lake Michigan, White closed the week with her first career triple-double - 14 kills, 19 assists, 13 digs, two blocks and two aces - in a thrilling, five-set win over St. Clair County.

In total, she recorded three double-doubles and a triple-double over five matches.

Nationally, she moved up to eighth in total kills.

No. 2 Owens (23-6, 9-1 OCCAC) has now won nine straight behind the play of White. They will conclude the regular season with a pair of matches this week - Wednesday against Lakeland at home at 6 p.m. and at Terra State on Friday at 6 p.m.

Should the Red and White defeat the Lakers, their match against the NJCAA Division II No. 7 Tartans on Friday will be for a share of the OCCAC championship. The Tartans, who have lost just three sets since Aug. 31, have not dropped a set in conference play, including a 29-27, 28-26, 25-21 win over Owens on Sept. 1.
