The words "Owens" and "red banner" are echoing a little louder at the close of each practice for the Owens Community College volleyball team.
The players have been itching to chant them for nearly two years.
The coronavirus pandemic wiped out the 2020 season for the two-time defending NJCAA Division III national champions.
A red banner symbolizes what's nearly becoming the program standard, with the Express completing 40-6 and 43-4 seasons in 2018 and 2019, respectively, to earn national title banners in the gymnasium.
