Egbert Named OCCAC Player of the Year

Toledo, OH---The No. 4 Express volleyball team dominated the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) postseason honors that were announced this past Thursday.

Middle blocker Brittany Egbert (Hopewell-Loudon/Fostoria, Ohio) was named the OCCAC Player of the Year and head coach Sonny Lewis was named the OCCAC Coach of the Year.

Egbert, libero Ellie Comes (Southview/Sylvania, Ohio), setter/outside hitter Erin Schatzle (Monroe/Monroe, Mich.) and outside hitter/middle blocker Emily Crowell (Parkway/Rockford, Ohio) were named First Team All-OCCAC. Outside hitter/middle blocker Julia Haupricht (Central Catholic/Toledo, Ohio) was named Honorable Mention All-OCCAC.

This is the second consecutive year that Egbert and Lewis have won POY and COY honors. Crowell is a freshman, while all other Express players named to the All-OCCAC teams are sophomores. Comes recently set the all-time career digs record for the Express volleyball program, while Egbert currently ranks second all-time in career kills.
