Elyria, OH---The No.7 Express volleyball team swept Lorain County Community College 25-17, 25-13, 25-12 on Wednesday in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference opener.

Emily Crowell (Parkway/Rockford, Ohio) and Molly Hilfinger (Anthony Wayne/Whitehouse, Ohio) each had one ace for the Express. Julia Haupricht (Central Catholic/Toledo, Ohio) had a team best 14 kills, while Brittany Egbert (Hopewell-Loudon/Fostoria, Ohio) was next in line with five. Hilfinger led in assists with 19, while Erin Schatzle (Monroe/Monroe, Mich.) had 10. Ellie Comes (Southview/Toledo, Ohio) had 13 digs, while Egbert had nine and Hilfinger had eight.

The Express (13-1, 1-0) will host Edison State Community College at 6 p.m. Friday.

Prior to the match, the Express moved up two spots in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II poll from ninth to seventh.
