Toledo, OH---After losing their 18-match winning streak to No. 4-ranked Parkland College this past weekend, the No. 5 Express volleyball team swept Lorain County Community College 25-12, 25-14, 25-14 at home Wednesday night in an OCCAC match.
Brittany Egbert (Hopewell-Loudon/Fostoria, Ohio) led the Express with 12 kills, while Julia Haupricht (Central Catholic/Toledo, Ohio) had eight kills. Molly Hilfinger (Anthony Wayne/Whitehouse, Ohio) led with 14 assists and Erin Schatzle (Monroe/Monroe, Mich.) had 13 assists.
Egbert and Emily Crowell (Parkway/Rockford, Ohio) each had one ace to lead the team, while Ellie Comes (Southview/Sylvania, Ohio) paced the Express with 13 digs. Alyssa Pelish (Central Catholic/Toledo, Ohio) added nine digs, while Haupricht led the team with two assisted blocks.
The Express (24-2, 7-0 OCCAC) will next take part in the Grand Rapids Invitational this Saturday and Sunday.
