Frankfort, KY---Nandi Taylor signed her letter of intent to transfer to NCAA D-II Kentucky State University after one season with the Express women's basketball team.

In her one year, Taylor helped the Express capture an Ohio Community College Athletic Association (OCCAC) title and a Region XII District I championship. Following that, Taylor led the Express to a seventh place finish at the NJCAA D-II National Tournament, the program's highest finish in its current format. The team also finished No. 9 in the final NJCAA D-II national poll.

In the national tournament, Taylor averaged five points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals over four games. Her season-high assist total (10) came against Vincennes University on Dec. 1 and her season-high point total (15) came in the team's final regular season game against Columbus State on Feb. 23.

Taylor, the team's starting point guard, averaged 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists and three steals per game. She started 26 games and saw action in 19, while leading the team in assists per game.

Taylor joins Karahn Scott (Claflin University, NCAA D-II) and Emma-Jean Ricketts (Ursuline College, NCAA D-II) as one of three players from last year's team to move on to four-year schools thus far.

The 5'4" Mount Morris, MI native was a member of Flint Hamady's 2010 state championship team. She averaged 12 points and 8.7 assists as a senior.

The Thorobreds of Kentucky State compete at the NCAA D-II level and play in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), which is the same conference Taylor's Express teammate, Scott, will play in next year at Claflin. The Thorobreds finished 15-12 last year and advanced to the SIAC Tournament Semifinals.
