Owens career: In 2001, she ranked seventh and sixth in the OCCAC for batting average (4.31) and ERA (5.37), respectively. Her postseason honors included a First Team All-OCCAC selection, as well as being named to the Region XII All-Tournament team. She was the team's offensive player of the year.

High School: Welch was named the team's MVP and received the Coaches Award.
