Giles Product, Sadler, Joins Quirk and Holsclaw In Next Year's Golf Recruiting Class

Toledo, Ohio---Owens Community College men's golf head coach Josh Williams has announced the newest addition to next year's recruiting class, David Sadler.

Sadler, a senior at Giles County High School in Pearisburg, Va., will join a class that already includes Dylan Holsclaw (Plainfield/Plainfield, Ind.) and Harrison Quirk (Wilnecote/United Kingdom).

"I am very much looking forward to having David join our golf program," Williams said. "He brings an excellent work ethich both on the course and in the classroom, and he has a great knowledge of the game along with a lot of experience."

Sadler is a three-time letter winner, as well as a two-time Virginia High School League (VHSA) and All-District player. He was the runner-up last year in his league and district. In the classroom, he is a VHSL All-Academic team member.

"The determining factor for me to be a part of the Owens golf team was the possibilities," Sadler said. "Knowing I have the opportunity to play at a very successful program that puts a strong focus on academics and athletics is something that will allow me to succeed through college and beyond." I know it's going to be a tough taski, but I'm willing to work every day and help the team out as much as possible."

In the past two years, the Owens men's golf program has had its best two-year stretch in program history. In that span, the team has earned back-to-back top 10 finishes at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament (10th in 2013, 5th in 2014), including the best finish in program history (2014). In 2014, the team achieved their first No. 1 NJCAA Division II national poll ranking in program history.

Additionally, in the past two years, Williams has guided Owens to 29 tournament wins, back-to-back OCCAC championships, back-to-back OCCAC Ryder Cup tournament championships, back-to-back Sub-Region XII tournament championships and back-to-back Region XII tournament championships.
