Plymouth, IN---Express golfer Luke Berger shot a 305 over four rounds in this week's NJCAA D-II National Tournament to finish in a tie for 32nd place.
The freshman from Bedford HS in Temperance, MI had individual round totals of 77-74-79-75 to finish at 17 over for the tournament.
"Out of almost 130 golfers, 32nd was pretty good for a freshman," said Express assistant golf coach Josh Williams.
Since 2006, the Express has either qualified as a team or sent an individual to nationals. Berger became the third individual to qualify following Jimmy Bell in 2009 (T-29, 300) and Joey Bussdieker in 2007 (15th, 289).
"We've had great representation (at nationals)," Williams added.
Ryan Mulvany of Tyler Junior College in Texas won this year's national championship with a five under 283, while South Mountain CC in Arizona won the team national championship.
The tournament was held at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, IN. Berger qualified for the tournament with his 10th place finish at the Region XII tournament.
