The Express swept Friday's DH against MNC-Hibbing with scores of 18-4 and 15-3.
Game 1: The Cardinals came out swinging and went up 4-0 after a grand slam in the first inning. Colin Raleigh then settled in and didn't give up another run for the rest of the game. He went five innings, allowing just three hits and striking out five. The offense exploded with 18 hits through 4 innings. Five of the starters had two hits, and Shuerman and Wilkins both had three hits. Hadryn Nowicki hit his first collegiate HR, a 3-run shot to put the game out of reach.
Game 2: Started similarly to the first game, where the Cardinals scored in the first inning, with the Express trailing after the top half of the first inning. However, in the bottom of the first, the Express put up a seven spot to regain the lead and never gave it back. Nelson Caraballo led the way offensively with a triple and a double. Gavin Roberts also had two hits and drove in three. On the mound, Lucas Gerkin was electric. He had 10ks through 3 innings to receive his first collegiate win.
