Toledo, OH
---Shortly before beginning their 2012 spring season, the Express baseball team signed another recruit for their 2012-13 season in 6'5" RHP Nick Street.

"He has a big frame, and he hasn't even touched his ceiling on the mound," said Express baseball head coach Del Young. "We expect good things from him as he finishes his senior year and eventually steps onto campus this coming fall."

The Rockford HS senior threw a complete game no-hitter against Wyoming Rogers HS in his first varsity start during his junior season. Overall, Street struck out 19, while only walking six in 13.3 innings pitched for the state champion team coached by Ian Hearn.

Also, this past summer, Street pitched for the Grand Rapids Diamonds summer league team and went 4-1 on the mound under the tutelage of Coach Syme.

"We expect Nick to compete right away on the mound for us," Young said. "We are excited about the opportunity to work with him as he will bring a strong work ethic and the right character we look for in our athletes."

Street has been an honor roll student at Rockford every year. He was an offensive guard for the varsity football team the past two years, and he is undecided on a major.

Street joins Brandon Zelichowski of Lakeview HS in Battle Creek, MI, Brian Bayliss Jr. of Bishop Foley HS in Madison Heights, MI, and Ben Breymier of North Central HS in Indianapolis, IN as the first members of next year's recruiting class.

The Express will open their season on Friday evening at 5 p.m. against NJCAA D-I No. 3 Louisburg College. They will then play three additional games against Louisburg as they begin their spring trip.
