High School: 2002 Tinora High School graduate, Defiance, Ohio, where he was a two-time First Team and Second Team All-Green Meadows Conference and Second Team All-Ohio selection.  Bowers also earned First Team All-GMC and Honorable Mention All-District honors in football, and was a state qualifier and First Team All-GMC selection in wrestling.
