2013: Sinay primarily saw action as an outfielder/DP as a sophomore, but saw some spot duty at the pitching position during the year. Offensively, she hit .381 with 18 RBI, 24 runs, 45 hits, three doubles, a team-high five triples, five walks and 16 stolen bases in 39 games played. She had two four hit games - including a 4-for-5, two run, one RBI game in a 16-15 win over Muskegon CC on March 22.
She threw 5.1 innings in the circle and finished with an 0-2 record.
Academically, Sinay was awarded Exemplary Academic Achievement honors by the NJCAA after earning a 3.7 cumulative GPA. That also earned her a spot on the All-OCCAC Academic Team.
2012: Sinay was third on the team in batting average last season (.444) despite a reserve role in the outfield. While seeing action in 27 games, she had 14 runs, one double, one home run, six RBIs, three walks and one stolen base. She was a member of the All-OCCAC Academic Team, as well.
Prior to Owens: Sinay was a three-sport athlete at Cardinal Stritch where she played softball, volleyball and basketball. In softball, she was First Team All-Toledo Area Athletic Conference, First Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-Ohio her senior year under coach Don Zbierajewski. Additionally, she was named First Team All-TAAC, First Team All-District and was a member of the All-Press team her sophomore and junior years, and a Second Team All-TAAC member her freshman year. In basketball, she was Honorable Mention All-TAAC her senior year. Her greatest personal sports thrill was receiving Honorable Mention All-Ohio honors. Academically, she earned the Principal’s Honors award. Additionally, she was an honor roll student all four years and a member of the National Honor Society while earning honors status in math, science, English, art and Spanish.
Personal: Amanda is the daughter of Joe and Jenny Sinay. An accounting technology major at Owens, she has one brother, Joe, and one sister, Ashleigh.
