2010-11: Thompson started four games at second base last season, while seeing action in 22 games overall due to her pinch running ability. Overall, she hit .333 in 18 at bats with 10 runs, seven RBI, three doubles, two walks, four stolen bases, and one hit by pitch with only two strikeouts. Defensively, she made nine assists and seven putouts with only one error. Her best game offensively came against C.C. of Beaver County when she went 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI and a double. In one at bat during the national tournament, she delivered an RBI groundout.
Prior to Owens: Thompson was First Team All-Toledo City League and a captain her senior season at Clay where she hit .333 with 27 hits and 16 RBIs under coach Brenda Radabaugh. She was Second Team All-Toledo City League her sophomore and junior seasons. As a member of the soccer team, she was Second Team All-City League and a team captain her junior and senior seasons. As a senior, she was also named Second Team All-District, while earning Honorable Mention All-City League her sophomore year. She lists making it to the softball regional finals her junior year as her greatest personal sports thrill. She also played basketball. Academically, Thompson finished in the top 20 percent of her class and was an honor roll student each of her four years. She was also in National Honor Society and a member of the DECA marketing program.
Personal: Hallie is the daughter of Jeff and Jackie Thompson. Her father was a 15th round pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1983 Amateur Draft after a four year player at shortstop at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. She is an education transfer - early child major at Owens.
