Toledo, OH---Agustin Bonjour has become the newest member of the 2013-14 Express men's soccer freshmen class after signing his letter of intent this week.
The left back from Montevideo, Uruguay attended Purificacion No. 28.
Bonjour helped his high school team reach the "gold" championship twice, once resulting in a championship.
In 2012, while with Nacional Universitario, he helped his team win the national title in the U-18 category and he helped his U-20 team finish second in the nation.
Additionally, Bonjour reached his country's final group in Nike's The Chance program, a 2012 program that selected the top players from a pool of 150,000 players worldwide. In Uruguay alone, Bonjour was one of 150 players selected from approximately 2,000.
"The left fullback position has been very elusive for the past few years as far as having a very high level player in that position," said Express men's soccer head coach Art Johnson. "Agustin fills that void with ease. In addition to being a quality player, he has great character and will be a great ambassador for Express soccer and Uruguay."
Bonjour joins Austin Combs of Anthony Wayne (OH) High School, Benjamin Rubin and Samuel Miller of Sylvania Northview (OH) High School, Ahmad Jarrar of Hendersonville (NC) High School and Adane Spence of Coconut Creek (FL) High School as members of the 2013-14 Express men's soccer team.
