Prior to Owens: Wilson is a 2007 graduate of Start HS who redshirted last season. During his senior year at Start, he was named First Team All-Toledo City League and Second Team All-District, while leading the City League in rebounding with 16.2/game. During his junior year, he was named Second Team All-Toledo City League. His high school coach was Gil Guerrero. Following his high school career, he played one season for Alpena Community College where he averaged a double-double.

Personal: Chris is the son of Eddie Gaines Jr. and Sheila Wilson. He has two siblings - Aaron and Bryan Wilson.
