Owens Express Outdoor Sports Complex
The Owens Express Outdoor Sports Complex is comprised of the Owens Baseball, Softball and Soccer Fields.
The Baseball Field, with grandstand seating to hold 500,
features the following dimensions: 320 feet down the left and
right field lines, 365 feet in the power alleys in left and
right-center field and a measurement of 390 feet to dead center
field. The field has two batting cages. Latest
improvements made to the Owens Baseball Field began this past 2011
summer: New infield mix added, re-built bullpen mounds in Left
& Right field. Owens baseball staff and administrators
collaborated with the Toledo Mudhens head grounds
superintendent Jake Tyler and Owens Turf Management associate
professor Chris Foley to improve the sprinkler system and overall
maintenance and upkeep.
Owens Athletics thanks everyone involved for helping on this
project. The baseball team is looking forward to
taking the field in 2012 on this improved surface.
The Owens Softball Field, home of the 2011 National Runner-up Express, also has grandstand seating directly behind home plate for 500 fans. The outfield dimensions are a symmetrical 200 feet at the foul poles and straight-away center field. The Owens Community College grounds staff does an outstanding job of keeping the playing surface in top shape.
The Owens Soccer Field had been the home pitch of just the Owens Men's Soccer program until the Owens Women's Soccer program played its first official season in 2011. The Owens Soccer Field has played host to a number of OCCAC and regional matches.
All playing fields at the Owens Express Outdoor Sports Complex feature Daktronics scoreboards.
